Funny T-shirt shops are two-a-penny. They seem to be everywhere. But there are a good number that just aren’t funny. They just seem to re-hash the same old crap. But somehow I came across Blue Man T-shirts who are a fresh breeze through the arid would of funny and offensive t-shirts. So I thought it was time for another thorough review since my last one.

Blue Man T-Shirts Voucher Code

If you wanted to save yourself 10% off the t-shirts, then use the exclusive voucher code FUNNIEST-10 – simple.

How Funny Are The Funny T-Shirts?

Well there are the usual Facebook ones such as the “I Like Facebook” T-shirt, but there’s a whole host of political ones such as “Gordon’s Credit Crunch”, which I thought was pretty apt with all the news coming out about how he and his cronies completely shafted us all. I also liked the “As seen in front of the TV” t-shirt as well as some of the play on words ones that the Two Ronnies would have loved such as “Go Puck Yourself” and the “Kenya Dig It?” t-shirt.

There’s some good drinking t-shirts such as the “Everyone needs something to believe in, and I believe I need another beer”, the “How’s my Drinking? Call 0800 D-R-U-N-K”, and the “My Name is Dave, And I’m an Alcoholic” t-shirt, the 0823 days – since I last gave a shit” and the “How’s my Skiving” t-shirts.

But it’s the rude and offensive t-shirts that I feel they do well one. Apart from the usual threesome t-shirts, there’s a fairly graphic poker t-shirt, some good ones playing on the MySpace angel and some nice “me and your mum” s-shirts.

I also liked the office humour t-shirts, particularly the “I bring nothing to the table” and the “most likely to steal the office supplies” t-shirt. And for those that like sporty t-shirts, there’s some humorous ones to choose from.

But Are The T-shirts Any Good?

Well the cool guys at Blue Man sent me a random t-shirt to review. I knew you guys liked offensive ones so I ended up with the Infidel one which is quite apt as knew that t-shirts based on race and religion are very popular when it comes to offensive t-shirts. I’ve got a number of friends that are Muslims and I know the vast majority of them won’t be offended by it. As a Christian (of limited conviction) we’re constantly having the piss taken out of us – it seems it’s a sport and hobby of the ‘establishment’. So why not make the humour a bit more equitable?

When you look at the definition of the word “infidel” then it does show the hypocrisy of some: “a person who does not believe in religion or who adheres to a religion other than one’s own”. So for those that actually know what the word means it’d be even more humorous. For those that don’t, they’re more likely to find it funny purely due to the fact that it’s displayed next to Arabic writing. The only thing is, I have no idea what the script means. It could be saying “the guy wearing this t-shirt is a twat!”?

The t-shirt arrived in good condition within a blue bag and by special delivery. There’s no way that it’d get damaged as it works its way to you (with normal Royal Mail peeps).

The general shape was very good, there was good room for my neck. I’m a medium build, in that I’m not fat. But I have a 40″ chest and a 16.5″ neck. There was plenty of room around the bits you need it to.

And what about the quality of the t-shirt itself?

The thread was tight, there were no loose bits hanging off and felt that that the transfer wouldn’t fade anywhere near as the multi-colour one I bought from T-shirts United has. I’ll wear it a few times and report back. As its bloody hot and her-in-doors likes washing on low temperatures I’ll let you know how it gets on with a few washes.

<fieldset>
<legend>Rating:</legend>

Variety: 80% – Blue Man had a very good variety of t-shirts to choose from.

Humour: 75% – they’ve definitely at the upper end of the humour scale. Some t-shirt shops just list the same old drivel. Blue Man does have a good number that’ll draw a very big smile and the odd audible chuckle when you’re out.

Ease of buying: 90% – my mother could use it!

Delivery: 75% – as a small company they’re not going to hold large stock levels. Be nice to them. 4-7 days isn’t bad. But you do get FREE DELIVERY. I do think they should make that fact a bit more prominent though.

Price: 85% – at £14 they’re very well priced!

Overall: 81% – a very good score! Well done guys

I bought a t-shirt from It Is What It Is about 8 years ago and its been through a lot. I must have worn it well over a hundred times (I do have other t-shirts you know). I’ve worn it in Barbados, Antigua, the depths of a British winter, cleaning my car and painting the house. It’s been with me through thick and thin. But I was wondering, how is it actually fairing? Well here’s the photographic evidence.

I first off looked at the lettering on the front. I bought the “This T-Shirt Cost Sixteen Pounds” t-shirt and I was very surprised at how well the letting is standing up considering all the wear its had. The thing to note is that I’m using a super macro lens that shows any blemish up massively. The slight cracking of the letters can hardly be seen. What would be interesting is to look at a large print on a t-shirt. I’m sure with that sort of print the cracking would be more noticeable. But who keeps t-shirts for eight years and then still wears them (other than me)?

All the It Is What It Is seem to have (or they did then) a label stitched to the bottom right corner. There was only the slightest fraying, and I only noticed by looking at the close-up photo even closer!

One of the areas that gets the most damage on t-shirts is the collar as it gets grubby in hot sweaty conditions and often leads to degradation of the fibres. Here there was none of that. It was still as good as the day I got it those 8 years ago:

All in all, I’m still getting great wear out a t-shrt that cost £16 years ago – you can’t argue with that. Well done guys!

I was going to a relaxed work BBQ so I thought I’d get myself a nice new t-shirt. Having ignored the ones that offered next day delivery because I wanted something different, I headed over to Bathroom Wall as they had a huge range of unusual t-shirts that I just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to buy.

I managed to negotiate getting the t-shirt delivered the next day and I’m very grateful for their quick replies to emails and Twitter messages.

Delivery: 7/10 options are limited, but they do seem to print them individually and to order so that can be excused.

Now first off I’ll go through the slection that they have to offer. It looks like they specialise in music t-shirts with t-shirts of guitar hereos such as BB King, Bruce Springsteen, Carlos Santana, Chris Rea, DAvid Gilmour, Eddie Van Halen, Eric Clapton, Frank Zappa, Howlin’ Wolf, Jeff Beck, Jeff Healey, Jimi Page, Joe Striani, John Lee Hooker, Keith Richards, Kirt Cobain, Mark Knoffler, Noel Gallagher, Pete Downsend, Slash, Steve Vai and Tony Iommi. They;ve also got t-shirts of every lead singer that could rock your soul including Iggy Popp, Bono and Ian Brown. If you wanted t-shirts of heavy metal bands then you’ve got Ozzy OSbourne, Angus Young and a whole host of others. They also cater for Alternative Rock, Punk, Soul, Blues, Jazz, Hip Hop, Southern Rock and Country.

But they don’t just limit themselves to music t-shirts. They also have t-shirts featuring cult movies, comedians, cultural icons, writers and philosophers. But they do let themselves down with “Dr Who T-Shirts”.

If you wanted sporting t-shirts then they’ve got motor racing ones, football, boxing and cricket covered.

One section I did like wa their pet dictators and potato republic ones. But when I was looking I plumped for the Joy of Sex T-Shirt.

Variety: 7/10 – slightly weighted to rock, but they do that niche exceptionally well

The package is as you’d expect: tightly sealed and ready to protect the t-shirt inside from the rigours of the British weather:

The t-shirt itself came out largely uncreased and fit to wear straight away. There were no horrible surprises and was in perfect condition.

Perhaps the neck was a touch too tight for the size of the t-shirt, but that’s my fault for having a thick neck.

The quality of the print was superb too. There’s almost no change of it peeling or flaking and I’d trust the missus to iron it without spoiling it.

And the price, at £13.99 they’re at the lower level of the unique t-shirts bracket which is damn fine when you consider they’re largely printed to order.

Price: 8/10

In terms of ordering, it was a relatively simply process, everything was simple, streamlined and efficient. You got notification when your items were dispatched and you could say it was faultless. The only downside was the design – but I’m just a bit of a philistine about stuff like that.

Ordering: 8.5/10

Overall: 7.625 – great score – I’ll be shopping from Bathroom Wall again.

Well here’s why:

Most obviously its the choice of t-shirts they stock. They’ve got t-shirts based on TV shows, movies, cartoons, bands and singers, games, fairytales and icons. Now if you were a child growing up in the 1980′s then this has to be music to your ears. Just look at some of the classic tV shows they’ve got t-shirts for:

A-Team, Bagpuss, Banana Splits, Baywatch, Beverly Hills 90210, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Button Moon, Cheers, Chorlton and the Wheelies, ChuckleVision, Dukes of Hazzard, Elmer The Elephant, Fraggle Rock, Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Greatest American Hero, Happy Days, I Love Lucy, Jim’ll Fix It, Knight Rider, M*A*S*H, Magnum P.I, Miami Vice, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Monty Python, Muppets, Only Fools And Horses, Paddington Bear, Rainbow, Roland Rat, Saved by the Bell, Sesame Street, Sex And The City, Star Trek, Superman, Teletubbies, The Simpsons, The Wombles, Thomas The Tank Engine, Top Of The Pops and Wonder Woman.

They also do loads of other stuff like bags, mugs, dressing gowns, jewellery etc.

Variety: 7/10

But its the ordering process that I just loved. The other Friday I ordered a t-shirt to review (they didn’t know this) 09:14 and then I got an email saying that it had been dispatched at 09:32 – that’s 18 minutes from ordering to dispatch – awesome stuff. I paid just £1.95 the postage which was the least amount possible as I wanted to test how long it’d take to get t-shirts for most people and actually got the t-shirt the following Tuesday morning. So there were actually just 1 full working day between ordering and receiving the t-shirt. At that price, its fantastic!

Delivery: 9/10

It’s not all goodness and light. The prices were a bit much. Most of them are £24.99 which I did baulk at, but finally gave in to them. There are a number of t-shirts that are cheaper at £19.99 and less which I’m sure many will like.

Prices: 6/10

If you did want another positive you should look at how easy it is to buy from them. The site is exceptionally easy to use. There’s a very prominent search box as well as the ability to filter what you’re looking for if you just wanted to browse. You can easily just choose “Ladies” at the top, then filter again by style of item, size, colour, price or brand – which is fantastic. Also if you hover over an item they’ll show you what sizes they’ve got in stock, and if its out of stock you can ask to be notified when its back in stock.

When you add a product to your shopping basket you’re told how much you can spend to get free recorded delivery as well as other similar products.

There is a registration requirement – which I never like, but this is actually part of the general buying process and is standard in most e-commerce sites these days.

Overall buying from Truffle Shuffle is a very simple and enjoyable affair.

Ease of Buying: 8/10

When you actually get your items they’re delivered in a plastic bag which easily fits through your letter box and there’s no doubt where the item has come from. If you’re buying for someone else at the same address make sure they’re not going to pick it up as they’ll know what sort of present you’ve got them.

What I liked also was that the t-shirt was nicely folded with no creases and was basically ready to wear. The invoice/packing information was clear, concise and gave details about how to return the item if needed, as well as giving a label to put back on the packaging.

You also got some small sweets and a voucher code to save yourself 10% off your next order if you were going to buy again (I know I will).

If you did want to see a picture of the Bigus Dickus t-shirt I bought then here it is:

And if anyone buys one, I’ll put a photo of me wearing it

Getting it: 9/10

And overall, I the whole experience was bob-on! Great stuff guys!

Why I buy again? Hell yeh!

Overall: 39/50 (works out at 78% – I’m good at maths!)
